Staying Up Later

No war for the moment

Production rashly evades all time

Go on to find we’re drifting

Heat running down our spines

Oblivious to real

Fair skinned to bright love

Peeling and worn off completely

The life of purity and existence

Few question for long

It must be too hard for us to grasp

Answers of substance

Virtues of breath and heartbeat

Eyes that witness leaves and tiny creatures

Instead of base thoughts driving busyness

Hope for distaste with the present nearsightedness

Yearn for humanity’s return to itself

Learning is something we’ve forgotten

Doubting past lessons and staying up late
